Nowadays, the robots have evolved much. Honda's all new ASIMO is the first robot to walk. Back then, it would have been an impossible challenge.
The first robot ever made was a robotic pigeon, built by a Greek mathematician at about 300/400 BCE. The creation of robots began from there.
